Semi-Colon Mental Health Awareness Butterfly | Cross Stitch Hoop
Mental health affects us all in one way or another. Show the people you care about some love today. Using a huge symbol in the mental health community, a semi colon. The semicolon symbolises solidarity against mental health and inspired strength in the midst of suffering. The butterfly is aimed at those who have dealt with self harm. The idea was created so that you draw a butterfly on the skin. If self harm occurs while the butterfly is still visible then it must be washed off. However, if you manage to steer clear of self harm all the way till the butterfly has gone then you create a sense of achievement that you have allowed the butterfly to be free. I have stitched a butterfly using four bright shades of purple to make a statement. Using each of the purples and one shade of brown I have hand stitched this graceful butterfly design. It will be finished off with a wooden embroidery hoop of 3 inches to frame the finished piece. I will add a small amount of ribbon tied in a bow at the top, making it extra easy to hand on display. It doesn't have to be hung to be displayed though. You can display on an easel or even just propped up on a surface. No matter how the finished piece is displayed it really will bring attention of the whole room.
